DISCONNECTION OF SERVICE

*** PLEASE READ NEW POLICY!

NON-PAYMENT DISCONNECTION OF SERVICE

Disconnection day is usually the Wednesday after the 3rd Tuesday of the month unless otherwise notified.  Holidays may affect disconnection schedule. Customers who have a previous balance (owing for two months) will have a disconnection notice printed on the water bill and will be disconnected on the day specified.

A non-payment fee of fifty dollars ($50) will be posted to the customers account if the ENTIRE balance is not paid by 3:00 P.M. (close of business) the day before the disconnection day.  Payments made online or by phone must also be paid in full prior to 3:00 P.M. to avoid the non payment fee and to avoid disconnection.  Payments left in the night deposit box after 3:00 P.M. will be credited the next business day and will incur the non-payment fee and will be disconnected.

If you are disconnected for Non-Payment checks will NOT be accepted.

Failure to receive bill does not relieve customer of payment obligation.

FOR EXAMPLE: If disconnection day is on Wednesday, your ENTIRE balance due must be paid in full prior to 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday.  You can NO LONGER pay the previous balance to avoid disconnection.  The entire balance due on the account must be paid.

TO RESTORE DISCONNECTED SERVICE

Service will be restored during normal business hours when the full amount due on account plus the $50 non-payment is paid in full and will be reconnected the next business day.  No payments may be accepted by the field employee. There will be no reconnection of services made after regular working hours (Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). There will be no exception to this rule as the on-call field employee has no access to customer records in order to make determinations on the account. If the disconnected customer makes a payment in the night drop without indicating whether or not the water is to be restored, the Authority bears no responsibility for restoring water. If the night drop payment is not the full past due, current and delinquent fees thereby bringing the account to a zero balance, the Authority bears no responsibility for restoring water service. Night drop payments do not release the customer from the nonpayment fee.  This policy will be strictly enforced.
